A Cursory Scan
Comments are becoming so numerous on the "Coffee with Jesus" comics that we've stopped bothering to engage the people and have adopted the policy of "it's better not to know." Most of them are positive, we think, but a quick glance indicates that many of them are not; people getting offended, defensive, argumentative or just annoyed. And good or bad, it's better not to know. Too much praise goes to your head - too much ridicule and you start doubting yourself.
So now we are going to just make the comics and post them. If they get a bunch of likes and shares, we figure the balance is in our favor and we'll leave it at that. To monitor the dialog they create is not our business anymore. That they are creating dialog is cool, but for us to have to defend each and every comic against every argument against them - well, life's too short for that crap. Charles Schultz would've gone mad if he could've read everyone's thoughts, good or bad, on Charlie and Snoopy's latest exploits.
And when we speak in the plural, we are talking about this pair of kids, who would prefer to keep some sense of childlike wonder intact rather than get bogged down in the angry noise so common online these days.

If there is any compliment to be made about CWJ, for me it is that it has given me the opportunity to look at Jesus in an entirely new way, not as a dull and stolid judge but as a lively, engaged and funny friend. Too much "My Buddy Jesus" is not a good thing, of course, but I LIKE the Jesus you envision much more than the one planted in my head by a fundamentalist church all those years ago! So thank you for making me genuinely happy.

I like what you do. But, since you're ignoring comments, you won't see this. And the kid on the right (in the pic) looks like a cute kid. A nice girl. Good to stay that way. Kid on the left...ummm...great personality? hopefully?...nice chest plate...jk...but it is a nice chest plate...

Yeah, anon, kid on the right has maintained her innocence. Kid on the left - kind of a jerk. Obviously.

I echo Susania's comments. In addition, I think sometimes my American interpretation of Jesus is stretched more when I think about how unlike me(us) HE was, not just in His perfection and holiness, but culturally, socio-economically, obviously the time in which He lived. I have found we love Middle Tennessee Jesus more than Middle Eastern Jesus.

I think your right on 99% of the time with the CWJ strip! My very favorite was the "top 10 list" for the year 2011. Kevin is such a putz.

Good for you RFB!
However, James (camel enthusiast), I must say that I get so much from everyone's comments...gives me many chuckles & even more to contemplate. Yours will be missed.

RFB is reading the comments, the girl is very nice looking the boy maybe is for a girl to decide, are this the two authors of the site it seems a picture of actors in a movie or tv film . Anyway I think it's not a picture of the authors . My comment is this: Pray to the Lord if you should publish the cartoons, He might talk to you some words and if He wants you to publish it after all I think you will want to give it as title: I thought it was Jesus at the coffee but He showed me it wasn't Him or shorter: Coffee with a bad actor, because truth is always allowed in comics

But if you are really THE couple on THE picture then even better , since kids do all need to be with THE Lord , since He loves them bigtime , actually He loves them so much He wants the grown ups to be changed to be start again as newborn babes and be as children again able to understand his words, be humble like Him, to respect and love the adults who couldnt help that the kid they were became prisoner. So kids pray to the Lord I pray too and Hid answer will change your world, my world and the world of all the others who will see it
